I have a Whirlpool Trashmasher Compactor (installed in 1985). The ram is stuck in the down position, and I cannot open the compactor drawer door. When I turn the switch on, I hear the motor humming but the ram is not moving. The drawer door is fully closed but slightly rotated clockwise. How can I get the ram upward if the motor just hums, and if that is not possible, how do I get the compactor out to repair or replace it?

My front-loading washer, model GFW550SSNWW, is not starting. It goes to the door lock signal but nothing happens, then it displays 'door' on the screen. I replaced the door latch assembly, but the issue persists. The unit is only 2 1/2 years old, and the hinges and door strike seem fine. What could be the problem, and what should I do?

How do you force this model into a defrost cycle and how do you end this test? The refrigerator is not cooling, the evaporator fan and condenser fan are running, the compressor is cold and does not run, and there is no 120 VAC to the compressor. I thought maybe it is stuck in the defrost mode.

My upright freezer is cooling but not below 40 degrees. I can hear a low or soft sound when the door is open, but not when it's closed. The door doesn't seal properly, and the compressor is hot. I have a Westinghouse freestyle refrigerator Model No. RJ532T Serial No. 21653211. The unit runs but the freezer won't make ice cream hard and the provision department doesn't get very cold. I have measured the temperatures (with the thermostat set to max cool) at: Freezer: minus 12.5 degrees C (min) and the provisions cabinet at between 6.5 and 9 degrees C. Could you please advise if this fridge should get colder than this and if so what might be the cause of it not getting colder?

My Bosch freezer GSU23420GB FD 8201 (frost-free) won't go below -13°C. I found the radiator cover was completely frozen, so I defrosted it. A friend suggested the thermostat might be stuck and advised replacing it. I can't find a thermostat on the circuit diagram and assume it's part of another component like the main PCB. What part should I replace to fix this problem, which happened about a year ago and has run well since then?
