When I send simple Word files to my employer, they are encrypted for no reason. A tech suggested that a spam blocker called Cloudmark might be causing this, but I never added that program to my computer. Could this be the reason? How can I remove this issue so that I can send my files correctly?

I have a Sony VGN NR160E laptop with Vista, and I cannot download 98% of my updates. I keep getting a failed code of WindowsUpdate_8007371B and WindowsUpdate_dt000. How can I repair this problem? I don't have a recovery disc or anything of that sort. Any ideas?

I have a Lenovo T42p laptop that hasn't been used for a few months. Now, when I try to start it, it shows a black screen with a white lock icon in the upper left corner and won't open. I've tried pressing F8 for safe mode and F1, but it still won't unlock. What can I do to get it unlocked?

My CD drive is not working, and I need to restore my computer due to a key logger issue. I've tried updating the driver and using a new recovery disk, but the CD drive still doesn't work. Should I proceed with a factory restore, and if so, will I need to reinstall all my programs?

What is the white small thing for the Gateway FHX2300-01 computer? Some say it is the modem, but it is small and hooks into the back of the hard drive. Where do you plug the black small cord into the computer if it is the modem?
