I have an HP3840 printer connected via USB. The printer light is on steady, but my computer says it's offline and sometimes shows a paper jam error, even though there is no jam. I have tried unplugging and replugging both the power cord and the USB, but the issue persists. My computer doesn't recognize the software sent with the printer, and I rely on Avast Driver Updater for updates. What can I do to resolve this issue?

I have been working on three publications using my Apple computer for five years. Suddenly, two days ago, I could not open any pages or access my InDesign files. My computer had been updated, and in the process, everything was locked away. I am missing publication deadlines because I cannot access my text or open InDesign pages. Additionally, the typeface I have used for 30 years, Century Schoolbook, was suddenly gone, replaced by other typefaces. What can I do to resolve these issues and recover my typefaces and InDesign files?
