I have Windows 7. My monitor goes to sleep (black screen) after about 15 minutes of inactivity and the audio stream I'm trying to listen to gets cut off. I would like to extend that time to several hours or turn it off if possible. Can you help?

My Acer Aspire 3810TZ won't turn on, even though the battery was fully charged and the charger is new. The charging light is not on, and it doesn't work whether plugged in or not. I've tried removing the battery and holding the power button, but nothing changes. What could be the issue, and what steps can I take to resolve it?
