I loaded Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 onto my computer, but after a motherboard repair, I am unable to access it. The file wininet.dll has been overwritten with an older version, and when I try to reload IE7 Beta 2, I am told that it is already loaded and should be removed through the Control Panel, which it no longer appears in. Internet Explorer 6 seems to have been loaded over it. When I click on Internet Explorer, a dialog box appears stating that the procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInforByURLW could not be located in the dynamic link library Wininet.dll. I tried to replace the file with one from another computer also running IE7, but a dialog box kept coming up saying the file was being used by another program. Is there a way I can force a reload of IE7 Beta 2 or get rid of it and reload Internet Explorer 6? I assume there should be a registry key change or something else that will let me do this.
