Why does my Acer Predator Helios 500 have sound during startup but no sound with videos or other media after the system fully loads?

I have a G-Drive with Thunderbolt, 4TB. When I plug it into any USB port, the light turns solid red and the drive does not power up. I've tried different USB ports and cables, but the issue persists. What could be causing this and what can I do to fix it?

My microphone works perfectly everywhere except in CS:GO. No one can hear me talk, and it's a new problem. I haven't messed with anything, have set as default, and tried many things. I have a HyperX headset, and I tried to uninstall CS:GO.
