I ran Spyware Stop and it found some cookies and two infected files: Adware-Media-c:windowshelp ocontnt.gid and Trojan-Fakealert-c:windowssystem3213.tmp. Could you tell me what they are, how I got them, and what to do to correct them? I deleted the infected files but then I couldn't open anything and got an "error 0xc0000142". I restored the infected files and then I could open anything. How do I properly remove these infections and prevent future issues?

I am trying to delete an exe file and it goes to the recycle bin and I delete it there, but when I restart the file is back. Can someone help me?

My computer with Windows 2000 is not displaying backgrounds, including website backgrounds and desktop wallpapers. The display settings show that all wallpapers are locked, and I cannot select new ones. Additionally, the text is displayed in giant letters, and some text appears scrambled and overlapped. I have a malware alert mentioning 'antivermins.' What software should I use to resolve this issue?
