My Adobe Flash Player is saying suspended and is not working. What should I do?

I have a SyncMaster P2470 PC monitor bought in June 2010. I just bought a new computer with Windows 7. It works OK with the analogue cable, but when I try to use an HDMI cable, the edges of the desktop, computer programs, etc., expand and vanish on the sides and top and bottom. It's as if the picture is too large for the screen. This means, for example, that the icons near the screen edge cannot be accessed. Could you please help?

I can hear the party I am calling, but they say my conversation is garbled. Sometimes it is okay when I call back but not always. Changed phone cord no help there. What else can I do to get this to work properly?
