My Gateway NV79C36u laptop refuses to boot, not even into the recovery disc. It is stuck at the Gateway logo, and pressing F2 or F12 does nothing. No error codes are displayed. I have detached all external devices except an external CD ROM drive. What could be the issue and how can I resolve it?

I sent something to be printed, and it wouldn't print for 24 hours, but then it started printing. How do I fix that? My printer model is MX490, and I'm using a PC with an unknown operating system. The issue has been ongoing since I got the printer, and I've always thought it was my fault. The printer now says it's offline and that another computer is using it, which isn't true.
