My desktop gadgets do not display properly on my desktop. All I can see of the gadget when I put the mouse over it is the close and drag buttons. The gadgets used to work correctly in the past, but I am not sure when the issue started because I have not used them lately.

I have a 6-month-old HP laptop that is frequently locking up and displaying an error message. I have tried booting into safe mode, running a system scan with Hitman Pro, and using the System File Checker (sfc /scannow), but the issue persists. I have also disabled all startup items using msconfig, but the laptop still freezes and shows the same error. What else can be done to resolve this issue?

I have music files saved on an external hard drive that were originally on a Windows XP computer. Now, on my Windows 7 computer, none of the songs will play.
