I inherited an IBM Thinkpad 570 from a relative. It powers on, but it goes directly to a white screen and I can't do anything with it. I have no manual only the power cord. How do I do a factory reset?

I have a Gateway 500GR from 2004 with Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 504 MB of RAM, and Windows XP. I want to know how much RAM my old computer can handle and if I can upgrade the RAM. I also have a new HP laptop with 8GB RAM and 1TB HD running Windows 8, but it's not as fast as expected. Is my cable company at fault, or is there something wrong with the laptop? Additionally, I'm considering downgrading the new laptop to Windows XP for better performance.

I installed a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD on my new computer with Windows 8, but the computer does not recognize it. I need to know what to do to get it working as I write music on the computer and want a really good sound with no pops or crackles.

I have an ASUS Maximus IV Extreme Z motherboard with an i7-2700 CPU. Recently, I've been experiencing frequent Blue Screens of Death (BSOD), and now my computer won't boot up at all. I've tried Windows startup repair and switching SATA cables, but the drives don't seem to power up. Could this be an onboard SATA controller problem?
