When copying text from a webpage and pasting it into a Word 2007 document, I find symbols like the temperature degree symbol at the beginning of new paragraphs and various points in the text. How can I search for and replace these symbols with nothing, i.e., delete them?

I cannot connect to the internet on my Windows 10 Dell desktop, which is hard-wired. I get a webpage up but it keeps loading. I have not installed any updates recently and have been trying to get help from ATT U-verse, who say it's a computer problem. I also cannot access my Yahoo Mail. What can be done to resolve this issue?
