My 4-year-old neutered German Shepherd Dog (GSD) was diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS) in his right front leg in October 2012. The tumor was removed, and he received 20 radiation treatments in November. In March, two more tumors were found and removed from an adjacent area. I was told that he 'failed' radiation and that STS does not respond well to chemotherapy. Electrochemotherapy was discussed, but my vet is concerned about the waiting time between treatments potentially increasing the risk of metastasis to the lungs or liver. Tomorrow, my dog is scheduled for chest x-rays to check for metastasis, followed by leg amputation if none are found. Do you have any suggestions for the planned treatment?

When I woke this morning, one of my dog's ears is swollen and flopping down, it seems to be filled with fluid. Is there anything I can do at home for this or does he need to see a vet to have it drained?

My 10-year-old bull mastiff is in pain from a large tumor on her hind leg. She was scheduled for surgery, but the condition has worsened significantly in the past 12 hours. I live an hour and a half from the nearest vet and would like to give her Vicodin to help with the pain until I can get her in and have her put down. Will this cause her any more distress?
