Could it take a week to exhibit signs of toxicity in a dog after ingesting an unknown amount of carprofen (Rimadyl) a week ago? The dog, Penny, a 50lb, 8-year-old female, has started vomiting three times yesterday and has pale gums. She also had an incident a month ago requiring stitches, which are mostly healed now. What should be done to monitor her condition and when should veterinary attention be sought?
