Good evening Dr. Gary, I would like to review my dog's history with you and see what you think. Leo is an 8-year-old male Maltese diagnosed with IMHA in July 2015. He has been on prednisone, mycophenolate, and atopica. Recently, he had diabetic ketoacidosis and pancreatitis, and he tore both of his hind ACLs. He is now on 1 unit of insulin BID, 2.5 mg prednisone every other day, mycophenolate BID, and atopica BID. His last HCT was 33% and all other blood work is slowly returning to normal. Is it reasonable to think that we may be able to wean him off his IMHA meds at some point? Also, I have an appointment with the rehab department at UGA to evaluate his ACL issues. I am hoping to get him into their hydrotherapy program. What are your thoughts on this?
