Around 11 this morning, my dog got into my toddler's ibuprofen. I'm not sure how many she ate, but they weren't all gone out of the bottle. She's close to 40 lbs and 1 year old. She's been fine all day but just threw up once. What should I do?

I just adopted a dog named Bella, who is 1 1/2 years old, from a local shelter. She tested negative for heartworm in March and was given a chewable preventative on March 31. The shelter won't provide a prescription for her heartworm preventative, and she has an appointment for a final check at the end of this month. Is it bad if she goes without her heartworm meds for a month? She has had tummy troubles (diarrhea) but it seems to be a food issue, and otherwise, she is active and has a good attitude.
