I have a Lhasa Apso with matted hair that I need to comb out. She becomes very anxious and won't sit still when I try to comb her, and our local groomers just cut her hair off without trying to comb it. I don't want to resort to cutting her hair, so I'm looking for ways to calm her down for combing. I've considered using a sedative but am hesitant. Are there any suggestions to help her stay calm during the combing process?

My 97 lb ridgeback ate my husband's ostomy bag with a 2 x 3/8 inch ring. She has passed most of the plastic bag but not the ring. She has vomited a bit but generally is eating, pooping, and behaving normally. What should we do? How long can it take for the ring to pass?

What can I do for my 2-year-old black lab who I believe has ingested three berries of black nightshade? She vomited early this morning around 5:30am all three whole berries back up and continued to vomit a clear foamy type of vomit until about 6:15am. Since then she has not vomited since 6:15am. Since it is Sunday there is no vet available until tomorrow morning. She is laying around not following anyone like she normally would. She ate her breakfast and she is drinking.

I have a 3.5-year-old red merle Australian shepherd named Dylan who had an episode last year where he stumbled and had cramping. Since then, he has developed discolored teeth, low energy, excessive panting, increased water intake, large urine output, and lack of stamina, especially in warm weather. He also has staining around his eyes and mouth. I have taken him to the vet several times but without results. What tests can I recommend to the vet to diagnose what might be wrong with him?
