I had to take a second fecal sample to my veterinarian and they charged me $70.00. My dog, Reese, is doing much better and no longer has diarrhea. Why did it cost so much, and why would they ask for another sample if he is better?

We noticed two bright red spots on our dog's belly/groin area while on vacation by a lake. The spots appeared this morning, and our dog doesn't seem to notice them—no itching or licking, and her behavior is normal. She lies on her back a lot, so we noticed the spots quickly. It's been less than 24 hours. What could these spots be?

She also yelps in pain when picked up and seems reluctant to go outside. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do?
