I have a 1.5-year-old pit-bull named Bart. We've had him for 4 months, and he spends a lot of time in the backyard through a doggy door. Recently, we found a dry, flaky patch on his back side that doesn't itch. I have pictures. What could this be, and what can I do about it?

My dog has swollen haunches with very dry skin on them. The swelling was noticed today, but the severe dryness has been present for a couple of weeks. She is not licking the area but bites at her paws and front legs, causing blisters that pop and peel. She has been on antibiotics and steroids before for skin allergies, but this issue is different. I just started giving her Benadryl 22 milligrams this morning. She weighs around 11-12 pounds and is 7 years old. I feed her a rabbit-based food from my vet, but I'm considering switching to Avoderm. What could be causing this, and what should I do?
