How do you know when it is time to end a dog's life? Our black lab is just shy of 13 years old and has been diagnosed with kidney disease for 2 years. Lately, she shows all of the symptoms of the final stages of the disease; weight loss, lethargy, blood work shows high levels of BUN and anemia. She doesn't appear to be in any pain. She has been on an IV at the animal hospital for a little over a day and has shown only minor improvement. We are not sure how to proceed.

My 3-year-old black lab spayed female is not feeling well tonight. She is pulling her stomach in and shaking a bit. Should I take her to the emergency clinic or wait it out? She may have eaten a toy but I don't know. Any insight?

My 11-year-old cross collie suddenly became unable to walk, with an MRI and X-ray showing nothing abnormal, and normal blood tests. After a week in the vet, the dog is walking almost normally but is now showing signs of confusion, teeth chattering, and intermittent loss of appetite. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do next?

I recently went on a trip for a week and my beagle has been acting up ever since then. She will go in the crate as normal but now she howls and shreds anything in there or near there. I believe this to be separation anxiety and have tried the "Thundershirt" and "kong ball" but neither works. In fact, she somehow manages to push the ball out of the crate and she got the shirt off and tore it to pieces. I live in the Grand Canyon and cannot easily get to a vet or hospital. Is there anyway to get her something through mail without a prescription that will calm her down?
