My 10/11-year-old boxer has a histiocytoma in his outer ear canal, causing a bad, smelly infection. Our vet recommended exploratory treatment with partial removal followed by a second operation, but I'm unsure if this is the best approach. I'm worried about the dog's age and the potential for the mass to be malignant, which could spread if removed. What is the best course of action?

I have a 10-year-old Rottweiler who has been hacking deeply for a few months and recently started licking the carpet, which I associate with nausea. I changed his dog food around the same time, but I'm not sure if that's related. He has no known health conditions except for some limps that the vet doesn't think are cancerous. What could be causing these symptoms?
