I have a 3-year-old pug and have recently moved to a remote area. I work 3 days a week for 12 hours, leaving my house at 7 AM and returning around 9 PM. I am worried about leaving him alone for such long periods. He has full access to the house and has never had issues with bladder or bowel control. I have bought potty pads but am unsure if he will use them. I do not have anyone to let him out while I am away. I am more concerned about the risk of a UTI than bowel movements. Can leaving him alone for so long harm him?

Growths on my dog are not flat but elongated. New ones keep appearing on the back and now on the snout. Is there anything we can do?

I have an 11-year-old mini dachshund. For the past three days, she has eaten very little, drinks lots of water, pees a lot, very little pooping, and has been vomiting. She has also become incontinent within the last three days. It is cold outside and she is always sitting on the cold ground. Could she have an infection in her bladder or a cold in the bladder? What medicine should I get the vet to prescribe for her? I am very worried.

When my dog breathes deeply and exhales, he shakes or shivers, enough that I can feel it when he's lying next to me. He seems otherwise normal, eating and drinking well, with no vomiting or diarrhea. What could be causing this?

This morning my dog was digging in the yard and ripped the top of a nail off on one of his paws. It's hanging like a pried fingernail. What can I give him over the counter for his pain, and what should I do about the nail?

My female dog was just diagnosed with B-Strep Group G, UTI. What causes this? Is this dangerous? The culture shows about 10 meds that would work. Which one is recommended that is not real expensive? She showed resistant to only Amikacin and Tetracycline. Thank you, Mel.
