I have a 7-year-old male Shih Tzu. This past year, he started getting really bad dry, scaly patches over most of his back, tummy, legs, and tail. These patches have become sores that seep, and then crust over. He has been on several different medications, including blood work and testing for thyroid and Cushing's disease, but nothing is working. His skin turns black after the sore dries up. Any help would be appreciated.

I mistakenly gave my dog a 25mg metoprol tablet instead of a 10mg lisinopril. What should I do?

My 1-year-old staffy has a cough that causes gagging throat noises, no vomiting or bile. He's been shivering, very lethargic, and has lost his ability to bark. His breathing is okay, heart rate is fast, and he's eating and drinking fine. Any advice?

My 10 lb dog ate about 4 500 mg naproxen 3 days ago and she's acting funny. Is she going to be okay?

Our dog ate about 20 olive pits and is showing symptoms of lethargy, difficulty walking, and arching her back. Should we take her to a vet immediately or can we wait until our regular vet is open in the morning?

Silver lab pups born on November 8th have developed puppy strangles. Three have been or are being treated with steroids and antibiotics. Can they play with each other? Do I have to worry they can reinfect each other? Two have had two rounds of steroids and seem fine, the third had a few more breakouts and was restarted on December 24th. Since they have not been vaccinated, do I need to worry about them going outside and contracting parvo? What is the typical length of treatment for strangles? How long after giving the last dose of steroid should I wait to give them to a new owner? When should they be vaccinated?
