I have a five-year-old female bluenose bully pitbull who recently started having seizures out of nowhere. She had multiple seizures, and despite normal blood work and x-rays, the vet diagnosed her with Idiopathic Epilepsy and prescribed phenobarbital. However, my dog has become lethargic, confused, and unable to control her bowel movements since being discharged. I am concerned about the vet's treatment and the long-term effects of the medication. What could be causing this sudden onset of seizures, and what are my options for managing her condition without the ability to afford a neurologist or MRI?
