Our 2-year-old Lhasa has developed an odd behavior of snapping at flies in the air when there are no flies, and also shows aggression, which sometimes seems to trigger it. What could be causing this behavior?

My dog, Pepe, has a history of back problems and has worsened it by jumping a small fence. He is due to start Predicare tomorrow and is currently on Gabapentin for pain relief. He is not eating his usual dry food but is taking his tablets when wrapped in ham or chicken, and he is not drinking at all. My concern is that he is not urinating or defecating. How can we get food and fluids into him?
