I have an almost 11-year-old female spayed Lab/Australian Shepherd mix named Molly. She has a 6-month history of daily use of Bonine and 10 mg Prednisone due to vesicular disease, arthritis, and is up-to-date on all vaccinations with normal blood work. Recently, she suddenly lost control of her tongue, making it difficult to drink, lick, and swallow, though she can chew food. She vomits shortly after eating, including her medication, causing muscle spasms and incontinence. Her temperature is 102.4°F, and glucose is 104. I administered 200 ml of subcutaneous saline as she couldn't keep water down. What could be causing this and what should be done?
