I spoke with Dr. Jo about my dog Jovi's recent tumor removal and additional testing results. The results indicate an undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, which is difficult to identify. Jovi is healthy and active, but I'm concerned about the uncertainty of the tumor type and potential treatment options. What does this mean for Jovi's treatment, and is it common to not identify the type of cancer?

My soon-to-be daughter-in-law's Frenchie, Lilo, a 3-year-old weighing 20lbs, took a bite of the stem of an elephant ear plant. She threw up a little about 5 minutes after ingesting a very small amount, less than a teaspoon's worth. What should I do?

My Shih Tzu ate a small amount (1/4 teaspoon) of green mouse poisoning about 10 minutes ago. He is a heavy build, weighing around 16 lbs. He has not vomited yet, and I managed to dig the poison out of his mouth. What should I do?

I brought my puppy home today and she has had diarrhea a few times, with blood in her diarrhea. She hasn't shown any interest in food or water and hasn't eaten anything unusual. What should I do?

My 14 and 3/4-year-old whippet, Smyth, has an open, weeping lump/cyst on his leg that won't heal and has been managed with warm cloths to prevent infection. He has also lost 3 pounds since October, dropping from 38 to 35 pounds, despite eating and drinking normally and appearing happy. His August blood work showed early signs of kidney problems, and he drinks more water now. Could the weight loss be related to the lump or kidney issues, and what else can be done about the lump?

My 5-year-old Chihuahua, Dobby, has had non-healing abscesses for 5 months despite numerous antibiotics and a short course of prednisone. He developed meningitis before surgery to remove the first abscess and survived. Biopsy revealed no foreign object, no bacteria, but abnormal tissue. Two CT scans, an MRI, and tissue sent to Michigan State again revealed no bacteria or fungus. Dobby is eating and drinking but lacks his usual energy. He has had two bouts of diarrhea, and he chews on Japanese forest grasses in the garden. What could be causing his non-healing abscesses and lack of energy?
