My dog chewed on a ham bone and ate part of it, including small pieces. He is now shaking, panting, unable to get comfortable, and has vomited once, eating the vomit back. His stomach feels firm. Should we go to the vet ER or wait it out? Is there anything I can give him to help?

I have a miniature schnauzer/shih-tzu mix named Mikey, approximately 9 years old, who may be constipated. He has gone out multiple times today but seems to be in distress, is very clingy and whimpering, and refuses food. His tail is down, and he won't let me look at his bottom. He had a bowel movement yesterday, but I am not sure about its appearance. He is not licking or scooting, but when I press his abdomen close to his hind legs, he has tremors, and the area is very tight. What could be causing his distress, and what should I do?
