I volunteer at a dog rescue in Mexico. One of the puppies had a severe reaction after his second distemper vaccine, including salivation, pale mucus membranes, lethargy, and a temperature drop. We administered Diphenhydramine and he recovered. He is due for his third vaccine. What are the chances of a similar or worse reaction, and should we premedicate him before administering the vaccine?

We purchased a puppy named Ransom from a breeder in PA and live in UT. Two days after getting him, he was diagnosed with coccidia and giardia. He was treated with a yellow medicine for 10 days and Panacur for 5 days, but the coccidia cleared up while the giardia persisted. He was retested and is now on another 7 days of Panacur, but his stools are still loose. What additional steps can be taken to treat the giardia and improve his stool consistency?

My 9-year-old Yorkie Poo, Zoyee, has pooped 5 times this morning and is still straining to poop. She has been eating more frequently and sometimes eats dirt. Her stomach feels tight, and her last two poops were loose with some fluid. What should I do for her today, and is an X-ray the only way to diagnose her condition?
