My dog weighs 10.5 pounds and is very anemic. He has had diarrhea for about 4 months, and despite seeing two different vets, the cause remains unknown. The last vet mentioned he might not survive surgery if needed. His gums are white, and I suspect damage to his spleen or intestines from an accident. What can be done to help him, and can I give him human or children's vitamin D or B12 over-the-counter?

Bella is a 13-year-old Standard Poodle with Addison's disease and melanoma. She had a toe amputated, and the margins were slim. The treatment plan suggested radiation and the melanoma vaccine. Bella and I are a pet therapy team, and we decided to skip treatment for more good days. However, specialists suggested the vaccine due to minimal side effects. Is it worth trying to find a vet who will administer just the vaccine?

I have a 50 lb, 16 y/o female Aussie cattle dog mix. After a 10-day stay at the petsitter's, she came home with a pronounced curve to her body, an almost complete inability to stand or walk due to severe arthritis in her rear hips and legs, and stress colitis. She curves or leans to the right when laying and standing. She already has proprioceptive deficit in her rear feet. She is hungry, recovering from stress colitis, urinating regularly, but hasn't had a solid poop in approx 48 hrs. She is moved everywhere via harness and takes Tramadol and Adequan injections. She does not appear to be in pain. Why is she 'listing' and is this curve an indication of pain? A visit to the vet is forthcoming, but I would like your opinion.

My dog is chewing and biting herself, primarily under her belly and sides, and is clearly itching. We took her to the lake this weekend and wonder if she got into something. What could be causing this and what can I do for her symptoms?
