Will giving a dog prednisone after being diagnosed with SARDS give an indication of whether or not IVIG will have curative effects or not? If so, how much should he be prescribed?

My chocolate lab, Edith, was diagnosed with tick fever and prescribed Doxycycline 100mg, 3 tabs a day. I'm concerned because she's showing signs of balance issues and I'm unsure how the diagnosis was made. Should I ask for more details on the diagnosis and what else can I do to ensure her health?
