My 10-year-old Boxer has had a synovial sarcoma removed from her front leg and has undergone radiotherapy. The tumor has returned, and the bone has fractured. The vet suggests amputation or euthanasia. What should I do for the best?

My dog was bitten by another dog. She seemed fine initially, but not a week later, her leg has a hard lump on it and she is limping. What can I do?

What natural lamb or vegetarian dog food do you recommend for Shetland Sheepdogs with sensitive stomachs?

My 15-year-old Wheaton Terrier has signs of dementia and is losing control of his legs, slipping out from under him. He recently collapsed and has not had a bowel movement since. His nose is cold, and he is not panting. Is this an emergency, and what should I do?

We have a 13-year-old Shep-mix that is limping on her front leg, especially after getting up. Two vets have taken X-rays and diagnosed it as most likely arthritis in the shoulder, but the prescribed medication didn't work. A second opinion suggested it could be in the elbow or 'ankle', recommending a specialist. My concern is the cost of an examination and tests. Would it be beneficial to get an 'affordable' lower X-ray of her leg, and is anything like this treatable for an older dog? Also, would a second X-ray help with the specialist's examination without costing $450?

I just found a lump on my dog's right hind leg. What could this possibly be? My dog is a black Lab mix, soon to be 10 years old, spayed, and has a thyroid condition with medication. She was just at the vet three months ago and is due for her annual check-up in the next few weeks.
