My 10-year-old German shepherd had an altercation with a bull a few weeks ago, resulting in a shoulder injury. The local vet prescribed compresses and rest, and the shoulder seemed to improve. However, I recently noticed a swollen, hard, and warm joint above his left front paw, and he is favoring the paw. The vet prescribed more compresses, but I am worried. What could be causing this new swelling, and what should I do?

My 15-week-old puppy has had diarrhea for almost 3 weeks, diagnosed with canine coronavirus. He's on Hills I/D diet, Endosorb, and Imodium, but the diarrhea hasn't slowed much. He's playful and has a good appetite. Will this ever end, and what additional steps should I take?
