My 10-year-old German Shepherd has a history of food allergies and developed erythema multiforme eight months ago, with major symptoms including a terrible sore in his mouth and skin issues on his belly and paws. He has been on hypoallergenic food for three years and prednisone helps but cannot be discontinued without the condition returning. He had a strong negative reaction to metronidazole.
