My 11-year-old dog, Marley, has had a significant amount of mucus after she pees and has been crying a couple of times since last night. She has a history of irritable bowel disease, had surgery on her hip 3 months ago, and is on medication for her heart and blood pressure. She's urinating and drinking water normally, but has been crying and has a runny nose on and off for the past couple of weeks. What could be causing this and should I take her to the vet as an emergency?
