My 11-year-old Shih Tzu, Ney, has a protuberance at his anal part and is limping from his back leg. The vet checked his leg and found no fractures, but prescribed Deramaxx and checked his anal glands. Ney is still very uncomfortable and in pain. Should I give him more Deramaxx at night, and should I use Gabapentin? Also, do you think the limp is related to the anal protuberance, and should we proceed with the vet's recommendation to castrate him and remove some of the mass for testing?
