My 11-year-old spayed female Sheltie, Brandy, is experiencing vomiting of mucous and food, diarrhea with food and mucous, weakness, and arthritis in her rear legs. She requires help to get up but can walk slowly with a limp once standing. Blood work and X-rays were normal except for abnormal borders on the spleen. She stops vomiting for 24 hours after an injection but then starts again, and Flagyl is not stopping the diarrhea. What could be causing these symptoms, and what further diagnostics or treatments should be considered?
