My 11-year-old spayed female Sheltie, Brandy, is experiencing vomiting of mucous and food, diarrhea with food and mucous, weakness, and arthritis in her rear legs. She requires help to get up but can walk slowly with a limp once standing. Blood work and X-rays were normal except for abnormal borders on the spleen. She stops vomiting for 24 hours after an injection but then starts again, and Flagyl is not stopping the diarrhea. What could be causing these symptoms, and what further diagnostics or treatments should be considered?

I have to go out of town for a week and need to board my eleven-year-old, female German Shepherd who has had anal sac carcinoma (in remission) and may have some arthritis. I usually board her at her vet clinic, but I'm concerned about her being caged and unhappy. What are your opinions and experiences with boarding older dogs for more than several days?

My dog ate approximately 1.75-2 oz of Godiva 72% Dark Chocolate yesterday after 12 noon. She is a 60 lb Chocolate Lab/Border Collie Mix and is currently trying to vomit. Are there any treatments needed, and is this life-threatening?
