My 12.5-year-old Northern Inuit dog, Sorrell, has been experiencing repeated episodes of loose stools with mucus for over 2 years. She is being investigated for liver disease, and recent blood tests showed normal results except for elevated liver enzymes. Stool samples tested positive for campylobacter, which was considered normal gut flora. Her heart and lungs are in good shape, and an ultrasound of her abdomen showed no abnormalities. What could be causing her loose stools and what can be done to help her?
