My 13 1/2-year-old Shepherd mix, Buddy, flinches and sometimes loses balance at sharp noises. Our vet diagnosed it as CCD, but I'm having a hard time accepting it because he's still very active. He takes medication for his thyroid and Rimadyl. What else could be causing this behavior, and what can I do to help him?
