My vet put my dog on 30mg Vetoryl for Cushings disease. She is a bichon frise and is now critically ill with failing kidneys, a liver infection, and is unable to walk. She was fine before taking the tablets, but now she is vomiting and has diarrhea. The vet has kept her for a week, but she seems worse. Her tongue is hanging out, and she is on a drip and pain relief, but there is no improvement. Could the tablets have caused this, and what advice can you give me?

Our 3-month-old rescue puppy has Giardia and is on medication. He recently started coughing and his breath smells foul. Could this be related to the medicine, or is there another issue? We are first-time dog owners and concerned.

My 6-month-old golden retriever, Stella, had an intestinal intussusception operation 3 weeks ago. I've changed her diet to a raw diet (goat) combined with chicken and rice, transitioning over a week. She is now mostly on goat and is having runny stools. Should I continue with this diet?

Hi Dr. Paul, you wanted me to follow up with you today and let you know how Prince is doing. His condition has improved, but he is still coughing. He seems to be breathing better and has more energy. He’s eating snacks but no real food, and his water intake has increased. He had a bowel movement this morning but none yesterday. I am still concerned. Do I continue to treat him, and if so, how long before his cough is gone, or do I take him to the vet to get checked out?
