My 13-year-old Yorkie, Tigger, has a small eye ulcer on his right eye. I took him to the vet and was prescribed antibiotics and eye ointment for lubrication (for dry eye). It's been 4 days since I started him on the meds, and I don't see any improvement. Is there a way to tell if his ulcer is getting better? He has a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks, but I'm worried that might be too far away.

My 14-year-old lab, Savannah, has a UTI. She has been experiencing frequent urination and today she peed in the house, leaving a trail to the door. She is also taking tramadol once a day for arthritis. What can be done to treat her UTI, and is it safe to use the penicillin I have available?
