My 2-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Bernie, has been eating very little for 9 days, refusing breakfast but eating some dinner, and occasionally cheese and apples. He seems slightly more tired than usual, but not in pain. He has been licking his genital/anus region more frequently. I took him to the vet who found him healthy, negative for heartworms, tick-borne diseases, and parasites, and prescribed an appetite stimulant. Despite this, he still refuses to eat much. What could be causing his lack of appetite and what additional steps should I take?
