My 16-year-old Westie, Spike, has been leaking from his anal glands despite regular expression. He is on a low-fat gastrointestinal diet, liver support, and probiotics, and has been dealing with digestive issues for four years. His stools are solid but not hard, and he is currently on Prednisone for allergic dermatitis. What can be done to address his chronic anal gland issues and improve his quality of life?

My Miniature Poodle, Bella, has been seizure-free for 2 years while taking phenobarbital. Is the medication still necessary, and are there safer alternatives if I am concerned about liver damage?

My dog, Leo, got some hot tub chlorine sanitizer granules around his muzzle and a small amount might have gotten in his mouth. I rinsed off his muzzle and his mouth as best I could. Should I take any other actions?

My boyfriend’s dog, Jazzie, was diagnosed with Lyme disease last fall after being lethargic and finding a tick on her. She was given antibiotics and a Lyme vaccine. Since February, she has been having intense seizures, with 4 in the past two months. Could these seizures be related to the Lyme disease, and is it normal for a vet to give a Lyme vaccine after diagnosing Lyme disease? Should we seek a second opinion?

My dog, Coco, a 9-10 year old pit/mastiff mix weighing approximately 70 lbs, suddenly had bad diarrhea with blood and clots, and also vomited several times. She had tried different food last week which caused upset stomachs in all three dogs, but no other known food was ingested this time. She seems alert and not in distress or pain. What could be causing this and what should I do?

My Rottweiler, Emma, had an emergency C-section and spay on April 7th. She developed a fever on the 10th, believed to be mastitis, and was given Rimadyl and Amoxicillin. She later spiked a fever and was prescribed Doxycycline, continued Amoxicillin, Rimadyl, and Cerenia for an upset stomach. Emma is still nursing, and I'm concerned about the safety of these medications for the puppies. What should I do?
