My 17-year-old dog has kidney failure and is showing signs of dying, such as not eating or drinking, being very weak, and breathing hard. My husband wants to put him to sleep, but I want him to die on his own. What should I do?

My puppy has been exhibiting severe separation anxiety since my fiancée left last week. She used to be calm and cuddly, but now she howls, cries loudly, and is aggressive, refusing to go in her crate. She is also not eating or drinking much due to her current illness and is not allowed to go outside for exercise. I have tried Benadryl, trazodone, and melatonin, but they had adverse effects. The vet has not prescribed anything else for her anxiety. What can I do to help her and myself, as I have not slept in 53 hours and am worried about my health?

My dog is currently taking metronidazole and sucralfate for a stomach issue. Since he started on the medications, he has been urinating frequently and in large quantities, which is unusual for him. He also had a light-colored, yellow-green stool. Should we stop giving him the medications, or is this a completely unrelated issue?

My 12-year-old spaniel has a lump on her rear end that has been present for over a year and has recently started bleeding. The lump is now the size of a softball, soft, and fixed in place. She is blind in one eye, has seizures occasionally, is overweight, and has not eaten for over 24 hours. She is also very weak and unable to stand or go outside to relieve herself. What should I do about the lump and her overall condition?

Our 4 1/2 month old Golden Retriever has had diarrhea for about a week. We had a stool sample tested five days ago and it tested negative for Giardia and parasites. We have been feeding him rice with some cottage cheese all week. Yesterday, we took another stool sample in to the vet for testing but she said no need for that but put him on 500 mg Metronidazole twice a day and we started this last night. He has since had 6 cups of rice only but he has not had another stool since last night and we are worried that he has had very little water and we are worried about dehydration. The side effects that I have found for this medication indicate possible drooling but he hasn't had this. We have become worried about him but aside from being lethargic which we know can be a side effect, we are just worried about no stool and hardly any water intake.
