My 18-month-old Jack Russell Terrier has been increasingly lethargic over the last 24 hours. His temperature is 99.5°F, respiration is 40 breaths per minute, and his appetite has diminished. He is urinating normally but has not had a bowel movement since yesterday. He could have eaten something unusual, possibly including xylitol-containing wrappers, dark chocolate, or rat poison. What could be causing his lethargy and decreased appetite, and what should I do?
