My 23-pound, 14-year-old dog named Sausage has a heart murmur and a bad cough. He is out of furosemide and has had the cough on and off for years, but it's much worse in the last 48 hours. He had pemobendan and furosemide this morning. He is eating, drinking, and has mild diarrhea. Is there a safe drug I can get at PetSmart until the vet opens tomorrow?

My dog had a reaction to the Chi pet shampoo I used to bathe him. He is licking himself raw around his legs and under his belly, and his skin is red. I gave him a tramadol 50 mg for pain but wonder if I can also give him a 1/2 Benadryl. My dog is part cairn terrier and lhasa, weighs 50 pounds, and is 14 years old. He has allergies but does not take anything regularly, sometimes apoquel for allergy.
