A Maltese Shih Tzu mix weighing 16lbs consumed burnt contents from a grill, including Apple BBQ smoking chips and possibly some aluminum foil, last night at about 9pm. She has since pooped black stuff and thrown up black pieces of burnt stuff and aluminum foil. What should be done to help her, and when should she be taken to a veterinarian?

My dog ate a cough drop containing benzocaine and menthol (no xylitol). The cough drop was a little less than one full piece, and my dog weighs 10 lbs and is 3.5 years old. What should I do?

My 14-year-old chihuahua mix, Smidgee, has stopped eating and drinking, and when forced to drink or eat, she throws up. She is also trying to urinate but only dribbles, and her belly is distended with shallow breathing. What could be causing this and what can I do to help her?

Our 20-pound, seven-and-a-half-year-old Golden Doodle, Brandy, jumped down three steps and seems to have hurt her front left upper arm. She can walk on it but limits heavily and whimpers when the upper part of the leg is squeezed. We suspect it might be a pulled ligament or tendon. The leg does not seem to be broken or displaced, but could have a small fracture. What should we do and what symptoms should we look out for?
