My puppy was stepped on last night and is limping on her front left paw. She slept a lot last night and is more playful today but still limping slightly. She will drink water and eat treats but won't eat her food. Should I let her walk around or keep her confined in a crate to rest her leg?

I have a black 14-pound toy poodle who was diagnosed with diabetes in November 2022 and has collapsing trachea. He is prone to overheating in the summer and has severe allergies that cause excessive licking and itching. He is on Novalin N insulin and has been through food allergy testing. What can I do to help him stay cool, and is it safe to give him human Zyrtec or Benadryl for his allergies, considering his diabetes? Additionally, he has started making a honking sound and itching his ears and paws more frequently. Could this be related to his allergies or trachea, and is there a specific antihistamine that works better for dogs?
