My 12-year-old Pug has suspected ataxia of the hind legs. X-rays show mineralization at the sacral joint, and a CT-scan is suggested but too costly. How can I manage his condition for the remainder of his life without surgery? He falls on uneven surfaces and drags his rear paws, and the vet says he doesn't know what his hind legs are doing.

My dog was due for a heat cycle a few weeks ago. She started whining and had a gush of bright blood. We have had her for 4 years and this has never happened. She has barely had any blood since. Is this normal, and should I take her to the vet?

My dog has started gulping and licking the floor and carpet, it's like he has something stuck in his throat and it's trying to swallow. This just started about a half hour ago. I checked his jowls and he doesn't have anything in his mouth. He is a Bassett mix.
