My diabetic Chihuahua, Pepe, has been refusing to eat for over a month. He was diagnosed with diabetes a year and a half ago after being treated for heartworm. Despite various tests and treatments, including an ultrasound and checks for ketosis and kidney issues, no significant issues were found. He occasionally vomits, and his stool appears constipated at times. He is currently on insulin and other medications like dosequin, wellactin, and gabapentin, though he often refuses to take the latter. He prefers to eat bread and dog chicken jerky but is not getting adequate nutrients. What could be causing his loss of appetite and what steps can be taken to help him eat better?
